Tip/Tidbit: Trust brings rest to all our relationships for it allows someone else to be in charge, it is willing to accept an unexpected outcome, and it cuts off our need for control. Try moving into a more trusting relationship with God, Who will not fail, and with others who may not do things perfectly or the way you’d do them, but who are able to take on some of what you’ve been controlling.
There is rest that comes in the act of trusting. Hebrews 4:9-11 says, “There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.” Unbelief is the opposite of faith, and it is not restful. Faith, however, brings with it the side effect of rest. When we trust God to handle a situation, we don’t have to keep badgering ourselves for answers. We don’t have to stress over the outcome. We don’t have to feel frazzled or hopeless. Through faith, we give an issue to God and know the results will be whatever is best. There is rest in that outlook. Too often, however, we pray the words but continue to fret over the unknown. We remain fearful instead of at peace because we believe that if the outcome is not to our liking, then it will not be what is best. But if we trust, we take ourselves out of the equation, leaving only God and the issue. While He works, WE rest.

oh girl. Thank you for writing this. This is something God has been working on in me. Sometimes it SO HARD to get to that place. But when we do, what a REST it is! Sometimes it's a daily battle to stay there. But , oh so worth it. It is the ultimate peace.
