February Personal Challenge: Invest in Relationships
Introduce yourself to someone.
Make an effort to connect to someone in our section. Take time to chat with one another before church, grab a coffee together before work, or meet for a quick lunch.
Send a letter to an elderly person or drop a card to a youth.
Tell others what they mean to you; encourage with your words.
Visit a friend or family member you haven’t seen in a while.
Prioritize your schedule to have more time with loved ones…
Feel free to share your ideas!
February Ministry Mindfulness: Widow’s Ministry
Headed by Theresa Smith, a Section 5 member, this ministry provides a monthly luncheon and spiritual support to many women in our church and reaches across the city to connect widows with one another. This month, we are showing our love for these ladies and our support of this ministry with boxes of chocolates and kid-crafted cards for each widow. You can contribute your support with prayer for these ladies and for Sis. Theresa.
Outreach Opportunity: Contacting MIAs
Monday, February 12, 6:00 p.m. we will meet at the church for a card-writing/note-sending/social media-messaging party where we will be reaching out to those who have been missing in action from our section.
In addition to this, we would also like to shower Bro. Tim Harper with cards as sickness has confined him to home for several months now. If you would like to send him a card, give it to Rachel Windham by Sunday, February 11.
February Prayer Focus: Section Unity
Meet at least one other person in the Section for prayer this month. (Before/after work; in the prayer room before service; on your lunch break; at prayer meeting…)
Coffee Connections: Join Edmund and Pat Gonzalez and Section 5 members for coffee the second Sunday of the month, February 11, from 9:00 a.m.-9:30 a.m. You do not have to be a coffee drinker to attend; everyone is invited to fellowship.

*This month's Ministry Mindfulness: We are praying for the church prayer ministries: Sis. Jean’s class, prayer meeting, prayer chaplains, ladies’/men’s prayer ministries, intercessors, Section 5 prayer warriors, etc…
*Section 5 personal challenge for January: Do something to grow spiritually. For example, become more consistent in church attendance. Start a Bible study. Use your gift for God. Establish regular prayer. Reach out to someone. Make a personal sacrifice, etc…Feel free to share your journey and encourage others by commenting beneath the blog or sharing on Section 5 FB group or the GroupMe app.
*Pray for Section 5 Prayer Pocket requests (in your Christmas letter).
God is on the move!!! Your prayers are being answered, Section 5!! Chris and Roshanda had a miraculous intervention in their legal situation. A case against them was completely thrown out! Bro. Tim is on the mend, demonstrating a supernatural touch, and God is using his situation to touch the hearts of medical staff and more! David was sitting among us this morning, another testament to God’s power at work! People with broken bones in their spinal and pelvic regions just don’t grab a walker and ride to church to sit on a pew. In addition, there have been numerous situations of divine protection, speedy recovery from allergy and flu symptoms, and trouble that should have been, but wasn’t. God’s power is still the same!! Tonight, we will be agreeing together for Emily’s miracle. Join us at the altar as we ask God to confirm the dissolving of the tumor in her MRI on the 28th. Keep believing, team, because God is working wonders!!
Next event for your calendars...
Happy Sunday!! Just a few reminders:
-We have Coffee Connections in the gym from 9-9:30 this morning.
-We are fasting and praying for Emily and her family as we ask God to reveal a miraculous elimination of the brain tumor during her next appointment on November 29.
-We are praying for David DeVille whose back was injured when a forklift ran into him. We are asking God to fuse the broken bones in his spine and pelvic region and to help him to regain full mobility.
-We are pr...aying for Tim Harper, who has had setbacks since his abdominal surgery. We are asking God for an elimination of all infection, mending of the surgical areas, quick removal of the colostomy, and strong muscular development to support his back.
-We are praying for Chris and Roshanda and their children. We are asking God to give them divine wisdom and favor to handle verbal and legal attacks against them so that their family experiences no more losses and so their family is protected.
-We are praying for those who feel discouraged during the holiday season because of loss of loved ones, financial setbacks, or less-than-ideal life situations. Pray for them to be enfolded in God’s joy, His comfort, and His presence.
- Mark your calendar for Dec. 5. We will be Christmas caroling with Sis. Massey and Bro. Mahoney. More details to be posted soon.
Join Edmond and Pat Gonzalez every Sunday morning for pre-service fellowship. You don't have to drink coffee to attend Coffee Connections, but you do have to be a member or a visitor of
