February Personal Challenge: Invest in Relationships
Suggestions:
Introduce yourself to someone.
Make an effort to connect to someone in our section. Take time to chat with one another before church, grab a coffee together before work, or meet for a quick lunch.
Send a letter to an elderly person or drop a card to a youth.
Tell others what they mean to you; encourage with your words.
Visit a friend or family member you haven’t seen in a while.
Prioritize your schedule to have more time with loved ones…
Feel free to share your ideas!
February Ministry Mindfulness: Widow’s Ministry
Headed by Theresa Smith, a Section 5 member, this ministry provides a monthly luncheon and spiritual support to many women in our church and reaches across the city to connect widows with one another. This month, we are showing our love for these ladies and our support of this ministry with boxes of chocolates and kid-crafted cards for each widow. You can contribute your support with prayer for these ladies and for Sis. Theresa.
Outreach Opportunity: Contacting MIAs
Monday, February 12, 6:00 p.m. we will meet at the church for a card-writing/note-sending/social media-messaging party where we will be reaching out to those who have been missing in action from our section.
In addition to this, we would also like to shower Bro. Tim Harper with cards as sickness has confined him to home for several months now. If you would like to send him a card, give it to Rachel Windham by Sunday, February 11.
February Prayer Focus: Section Unity
Meet at least one other person in the Section for prayer this month. (Before/after work; in the prayer room before service; on your lunch break; at prayer meeting…)
Coffee Connections: Join Edmund and Pat Gonzalez and Section 5 members for coffee the second Sunday of the month, February 11, from 9:00 a.m.-9:30 a.m. You do not have to be a coffee drinker to attend; everyone is invited to fellowship.
*Remember these are activities for Section 5. There will be additional church wide activities throughout the month.
