When an artist is creating, light is important. First, the light in which the artist is working determines that artist’s perception. As a result, it contributes to the creation’s value (degrees of light and dark within a color). Light within the art work is crucial as well. It creates depth, dimension, and definition. Finally, the light in which the art is displayed can be bright, diffused, or dim to set the tone for the piece.
These elements of light and the way they contribute to art can parallel the Creator’s work in our lives.
