One of the last events of the year at our church is our annual Kids Christmas program. We were congratulating our youngest son after his performance. I reached down and hugged him and as he turned to look up at me he suddenly realized what I was wearing. He said, “Hey! Did you know we match?” and “Did you mean to do that?” I replied, “Well yes I sure did.” He suddenly gleamed with delight at the gesture. The fact that I wanted everyone to know that WE belong together, that he was mine and I was his meant so much to my son. The gesture showed him that he meant enough to me for me to take the time and notice him.
I imagine Jesus to feel the same way about us when we take the time to make sure what we put on and how we go about in public says to the world, “ I’m with HIM!” I am HIS and HE is mine. What a show of love and affection! To honor Jesus in our daily lives by reflecting HIM is the only gift God can not give himself! It’s a form of worship. What an honor, what a privilege to be known as HIS!
I pray this year I make the time each day to stop and notice Jesus and what he might be wearing so that I can make sure to Match so everyone might know that I belong to HIM!
Romans 6:3-6
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for this life you have given me. Thank you for your mercy and grace. Lord, I want to be pleasing in your sight. I want the world to see you in me. Help remind me Lord that through baptism I was raised to a new life in you. I took on Your name. May I be reminded to walk in the likeness of your resurrection so that the world may see You in me! Thank you, Lord for always loving me and guiding me. In Jesus name, Amen.

Amy Cormier is dedicated to her work for the Kingdom of God. She, her husband, Joshua, and their three children, Tayton, Jaci, and Ty, reside in Lake Charles, LA and have attended Livingway Pentecostal Church since the Lord led their family there as new converts in January 2013. When God filled Amy with His Spirit, He set a fire in her that has grown more consuming with the passing of time. Her love for God shines through her commitment to the spiritual and her hunger for His Word, and her love for His people is most evident in her burden for children and young adults. God has used her to minister to youth through bus ministry, Sunday school, and Bible studies, but Amy’s zeal for God is also apparent in her contributions to an adult small group and in her work as a real estate agent. “The thing I love most about my career is it allows me to reach others outside of the church.” Now, Amy takes on a new challenge, sharing her affection for the Kingdom, through writing.
