Tip/Tidbit: Are there areas where you are allowing the bad and the good to coexist? Eliminate that which is holding you back or that which can one day sabotage the good in your life.
When Israel made it to the Promised Land, the land was everything God had said. And it was inhabited. Some of the residents were descendants of giants. In the midst of the milk and honey, idol worshipers and God haters were enjoying what God had said belonged to Israel. To possess the land, Israel had to destroy or drive out the occupants. Sometimes, we have things that we want from God, but we try to make them coexist with what already is. We say we believe God will give us a good future and that He wants good things for us, but we keep making poor choices. A woman, for example, can proclaim Proverbs 31, that her children will “arise and call her blessed…” and “her husband will praise her in the gates,” but if she’s a continual nagging, griping, raving lunatic, she’s trying to inherit a promise while living contrary to that promise. Our words and actions should line up with God’s promise, and that means silencing what disagrees with God’s Word and driving out those things that can rob us of what is rightfully ours.
