Although light may radiate from a fireplace or candle wick, often a source of light shines through matter: window panes, light bulbs, lamp shades, colorful globes. Sometimes these have the potential to magnify the light, and even present its beautiful color spectrum through refraction. At other times, the substance is a hindrance to the light. Soot on a votive can make candlelight appear dim. Dingy shades or pollen on a window can cause a sunlit day to appear dreary indoors. Saddest of all, sin can be a barrier to the light of God’s glory shining within a Christian’s heart. Let’s not wait for spring to do that deep down cleaning that allows light to shine through us unhindered. Tip/Tidbit: Erase the frown and share a smile. Offer to go the extra mile. Make it known that you’re God’s child.
