Driving down a street by our house, I noticed an unusual number of policemen lying in wait for lawbreakers. Knowing my son would be a few minutes behind me, I called to let him know to be on his best driving behavior. Typically, he's a good driver, but he does have a stereo system that can seem extra "thumpy" when his windows are down. When I hung up, I thought how God so graciously gives us warnings about pending judgement. Maybe it's through the admonition of a concerned prayer warrior who advises us to avoid a certain choice, or maybe it's through teaching that enlightens our minds to something better. There are varied ways God steps in to help us circumvent pitfalls in life. He has already traversed the path we walk and knows what lies ahead. He knows our weaknesses that could potentially get us in trouble, and He's gracious enough to remind us to wisely adhere to what we know is right. In the same manner, He lets us, His children, know about forthcoming events so that we can be mindful of unfolding of End-time situations. Most importantly, however, He gives us fair warning of how to be saved from eternal punishment. God lovingly speaks words of caution, we simply must trust Him and heed His voice.
