The Lord called the day of the Passover the first day of the Jewish calendar. God, who had already implemented time, reordered time to give His people a new beginning that signified the night of their deliverance from bondage. We, too, get a fresh start--as if our old life never existed--when we have the blood of Jesus applied to our lives. The night we partake of our Passover Lamb is the night of our deliverance. All things become new. We exit bondage to sin and Satan's dominion in our lives, and we begin a journey toward the eternal Promised Land. We live according to a new calendar, one that declares, "On this day, I was changed forever! Time was reset for me!"
Tip/Tidbit: I'm glad God gave me a brand new beginning. Just as the 430-year stranglehold of bondage was broken off Israel in one night, in one night, I was set free from slavery to sin. The blood of Jesus, my Passover Lamb, was applied to my life, and I became protected from the destroyer and the judgement I rightly deserve. This new beginning is for everyone! Let God reset time for you.
