Tip/Tidbit: Planning can help you anticipate the time off. Planning suggestions:
-Plan to tweak decor or decorate to note the season.
-Decide ahead what you would like to do during the time off.
-Will you have a theme you carry out all week? For little ones, it can be an alphabet week that incorporates doing/finding/tasting things associated with letters of the alphabet. (reading a story about alligators, baking bread, coloring a caterpillar…) For older kids, it can include around the world fun (comparing chocolates from Switzerland and Mexico, cooking an Italian menu, learning a German phrase, etc.)
-Will you be trying new things? (a new recipe, a new game)
-Do you have projects to complete?
-Do you need to prepare for travel? (a picnic at the park, a mini-get-a-way)
-If you need to make purchases, do so, and the rest of the week can be devoted to fun.
